Free Certificate in Applied AI for Social Good

AI is already transforming how nonprofits research, fundraise, communicate and manage operations. The question is no longer whether to engage with AI, but how to use it responsibly, ethically, and effectively.

We are therefore pleased to share a special offer for proFonds members: free access to the Certificate in Applied AI for Social Good from PoliSync. To access it for free, you must register by 10 September and complete all courses by 30 September 2026. Your free access will end after this date.

The programme consists of four short, practical online courses. You can complete them at your own pace and choose the courses most relevant to your work. Complete all four to earn the Certificate in Applied AI for Social Good or take individual courses and earn a certificate for each one.

The courses are in English, with German or French subtitles.

Choose from four practical courses

1. AI for Operations, Admin & Planning

Learn how AI can help you streamline everyday work, including:

• automating meeting notes, checklists and workflows
• simplifying emails, spreadsheets and analysis
• setting up automated, AI-powered outreach
• translating content and creating automated video captions
• staying on top of sector research and updates

 2. AI Foundations: Ethics, Governance & Prompting

Build confidence in responsible AI use and learn how to:

• understand GenAI, its risks, challenges and opportunities
• clarify your AI needs and develop a responsible AI plan
• create an AI ethics and governance framework
• understand relevant AI laws and guidelines
• practice effective prompting

 3. AI for Research, Insights & Data

Explore how AI can support research and evidence-based work by helping you:

• use GenAI as a research assistant
• sharpen research questions and search strategies
• triage open-web sources and create evidence tables
• uncover information in other languages
• clean, analyse and visualise data
• scan and compare case studies or policies

 4. AI-Powered Content, Storytelling & Advocacy

Use AI to strengthen communications, fundraising and advocacy, including:

• clarifying policy and advocacy goals
• mapping and analysing key audiences
• drafting newsletters, blog posts and social media content
• creating fundraising and grant materials
• generating campaign content, including text, visuals, presentations, videos and podcasts

Where and when to register

The programme is free for proFonds members if you register by 10 September so that you have sufficient time to complete the course(s) by 30 September 2026. After this date, the content will move to a new platform, and the courses will incur a fee.

We therefore encourage you to register as soon as possible and make use of this member benefit while it is available.
